Youth Protection Policy & Background Checks 

WashU is committed to fostering a safe and positive environment for youth participating in university programs and activities.  

To support faculty and staff in complying with the Youth Protection Policy, we provide essential resources and guidance. All programs involving youth must be registered annually and in a timely manner to meet policy requirements. 

• Program administrators must register their programs at least 30 days before the start date. 

• Background checks and required training must be completed at least two weeks prior to the program’s start date.
